Eva studied Japanese and Chinese studies with focus on language, culture and society at Tübingen University in Germany. She also studied at Sophia University in Tokyo and worked three years at Qingdao University of Science and Technology.
Currently she is a PhD candidate at Free University Berlin (Graduate School of East Asian Studies) and guest researcher at Tokyo University. She works on educational reforms in East Asia and focusses on educational policies and structural reforms at Japanese universities. Even though the PhD research looks at Japanese universities, Eva is also following developments on the Chinese higher education landscape.
